| “ | Oceansize's debut "Effloresce" is a monolith in modern music, blending Alternative, Post Rock and Prog to a refreshing style. There is everything you expect from a modern band. Great melodies, complex time signatures, heavy parts and three guitars. By the way, I think the genre "Space Rock" doesn't fit that good. They should be changed into "Crossover Prog". The album starts with "I am the morning". It is an instrumental song, not that exciting. It is a bit Post rockish, though. "Catalyst" starts with a heavy riff with a mechanical mood. After a while the singing begins, companied with a nice guitar melody. The melody part and the heavy part alternate to create contrast. All in all a very nice track. "One Day this could all be yours" is a bit more experimental with distored vocals and spacey guitar parts. | ” |
