From The Soundboard: 1984 Birthday Show is a 2011 bootleg CD by Prince & The Revolution. As the title indicates, this was recorded on his birthday at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota when he turned 26 years old. This show was done a few weeks after he released "When Doves Cry" as a single, a preview of what was to come on Purple Rain. The show highlights songs that weren't on Purple Rain and only a few on the album he did before, 1999. In fact, some of the songs remain unreleased to this day. It's a different set of songs that would change a few months later when he went into Purple Rain mode, and his career would change forever. He also introduces new guitarist Wendy Melvoin to the audience.
