New England: So many comparisons of Wishbone Ash overlook the English band they most resemble: Fleetwood Mac. The latter's albums like Bare Trees, Future Games and Then Play On bear a striking similarity to the first eight Wishbone Ash albums, especially in the restrained lead vocals, the interlocking guitars and the overall songwriting. New England, their sixth studio album, continues in it's "let's capture U.S. audiences, mates!" vibe that There's The Rub launched with noted James Gang/Joe Walsh producer Bill Szymczyk the year before.
