Royal Southern Brotherhood is an American blues and blues rock supergroup, consisting of singer and percussionist Cyril Neville, vocalist and guitarist Devon Allman, vocalist and guitarist Mike Zito, drummer Yonrico Scott, and bassist Charlie Wooton. New blood. New beginnings. For Royal Southern Brotherhood, Don’t Look Back isn’t just an album title, but the attitude that drove the award-winning US band’s third release. Tracked at the iconic Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, with an all-guns-blazing new guitar lineup and production team, this is the sound of a band rolling with the punches and turning the page. The past year has seen seismic change for RSB. If you’ve read the rock press headlines, you’ll know that founder members Devon Allman and Mike Zito have now amicably departed to pursue their solo careers, following stellar contributions to 2012’s self-titled debut album, 2014’s HeartSoulBlood, and the tours that rocked twenty-plus countries across the planet...

On the surface, Lodger is the most accessible of the three Berlin-era records David Bowie made with Brian Eno, simply because there are no instrumentals and there are a handful of concise pop songs. Nevertheless, Lodger is still gnarled and twisted avant pop; what makes it different is how it incorporates such experimental tendencies into genuine songs, something that Low and Heroes purposely avoided...

Released right before the group called it quits, Abbiamo Tutti I Suoi Problemi is a must-have for fans of complex avant-prog rock and rock-in-opposition, and it can also seduce open-minded fans of Italian progressive rock. The young musicians of Picchio dal Pozzo here manage to carve out a unique sound, resolutely attuned to the most progressive elements in Italian and British progressive rock, yet entirely personal and never matched afterward. Abbiamo Tutti I Suoi Problemi shares strong similarities with Unrest-era Henry Cow in the complex metrics, use of wind instruments, and overall chamber ensemble feel of pieces like "I Problemi di Ferdinando P." and "Mettiamo il Caso Che".

This two-fer compiles two Beefheart albums originally released in 1972. The Spotlight Kid was a stripped-down, slide-guitar-filled move toward Beefheart's beloved Delta blues, dark in outlook and more traditional in approach, although it was still distinctly Beefheart's take on the blues...

Rock | MP3 320 kbps CBR | Artworks | 81 min | 263 MB
Label: Polydor | Rel: 2004

A throwback to the era of 7" vinyl singles, the Who merge modern technology with a retro aesthetic with their First Singles Box. Featuring 12 CD singles in picture sleeves, the set contains classic tracks like "My Generation," "I Can See for Miles," and "Won't Get Fooled Again," along with their accompanying B-sides. And even though changing a compact disc 12 times doesn't quite have the same charm as going through a box of old vinyl, the set at least exposes a whole new generation of Who fans to the lost art of track pairings.

The title is a bit of a misnomer; this double CD only includes the complete sessions that the Animals recorded with producer Mickie Most in 1964 and 1965. The 40 songs capture the band at their peak, including most of their best and biggest hits: "House of the Rising Sun," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," "Bring It on Home to Me," "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," "I'm Crying," "It's My Life," and "Boom Boom." Most of the rest of the tunes don't match the excellence of these smashes, though they're solid. The great majority of them are covers of vintage R&B/rock tunes by Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, and the like, which aren't quite as durable as reinterpretations from the same era by the Stones and Yardbirds. When they hit the mark, though, the Animals produced some great album tracks that have been mostly forgotten by time, such as "I'm Mad Again" (originally by John Lee Hooker), "Worried Life Blues," and "Bury My Body." After leaving Most, the group would maintain their peak for another year or so (this period is represented on the fine import collection Inside Looking Out) despite the departure of one of rock's all-time finest organists, Alan Price.

Before in the 80's and 90's the guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist Simone Montrucchio and drummer David Guidoni had played together in Invisible Sun alongside with bassist Emanuele Fasanelli. They changed their name to Crystal Gaze when the lead guitarist Lorenzo Fasanelli joined the band. They played around Rome some covers with their own original material when they stopped in 1995. In 1998, they reunite as a trio and with the name The Far Side. The music is influenced by Rush, Enchant and Fates Warning and contains some slower and symphonic songs with piano and synthesizers and some heavier and faster tempo kind of songs were guitars are dominant...

Meanwhile, both have been released as CDs on Garden of Delights. On September 2nd, 1974, shortly after putting out their second LP, Missus Beastly had a gig in the Bremen Post-Aula. The concert was broadcast by Radio Bremen in their program “Jazz live”. Luckily, the master tape was kept by the station over the decades and was made available for the CD release. If you're going to pillage someone else's ideas, then go for broke. Because even if you find yourself crammed between the barriers of creative space, utterly at a loss for ideas, expression, or thought, you'd still have a self-respect buzzing in your ear like a mad angelic insect, putting down the newspaper and taking out a cigar to remind you that, hell, if want to sound like Radiohead when even Thom Yorke doesn't want to sound like Radiohead, you might as well take it to preposterous, bombastic, over-the-top levels. Add church organs, mental electronics, riffs bouncing off each other like the monolithic screams in 2001: A Space Odyssey, and you'll finally be in position to crack skulls like coconuts and make the world's speakers ooze gooey blood.
