While the The Definitive Collection 1969-1978 won't add anything to the discussion and contains fewer cuts than its predecessors, it is a more tightly focused set than any other single-disc comp, including Millennium Edition, because it only contains hit singles, B-sides, and well-known album tracks no filler for more casual or budget-minded fans. And yes, there are some who would argue that Stewart never released weak music while he was with Mercury, but frankly, they'd be wrong the Smiler album being a case in point. From 1969's The Rod Stewart Album to 1978's Blondes Have More Fun, this collection meshes the raspy-voiced solo artist's biggest Warner Brothers hits with the best of his Mercury years includes Maggie May Handbags and Gladrags, Country Comforts, Mandolin Wind, You Wear It Well, Angel, Rod's take on the Sam Cooke classic Twistin' the Night Away, Tonight's the Night, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy, and more.

Don't Cry 4 Me Argentina is a 1992 bootleg CD by Prince. It was recorded live at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 21 January, 1991 and is a quality audience recording. At this stage, Prince played with The New Power Generation and they were in between the Graffiti Bridge album and what would become Diamonds And Pearls. While the back cover shows 12 tracks, these MP3's were indexed as 17 tracks. Songs that were blended are now individually indexed and a song not mentioned (a cover of Otis Redding's "Respect" made famous by Aretha Franklin and sung here by Rosie Gaines) is within the lineup.

Happy Birthday is a 1996 bootleg CD by Prince & The Revolution. An excellent soundboard recording, it was recorded at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan on 7 June, 1986 on Prince's 28th birthday. He was on tour in support of his album Parade, which was the soundtrack to his second film, Under The Cherry Moon. The mood here is a bit more loose than his solid shows, complete with him going earlier to perform his first hit song, "I Wanna Be Your Lover". This was released by the Moonraker label.

As the title indicates, this was recorded on his birthday at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota when he turned 26 years old. This show was done a few weeks after he released "When Doves Cry" as a single, a preview of what was to come on Purple Rain. The show highlights songs that weren't on Purple Rain and only a few on the album he did before, 1999. In fact, some of the songs remain unreleased to this day. It's a different set of songs that would change a few months later when he went into Purple Rain mode, and his career would change forever. He also introduces new guitarist Wendy Melvoin to the audience.
